PLANS APPROVED FOR CATERPILLAR COLLEGE TO RELOCATE TO NEW LOCATION
On Monday, August 11, the Pleasant Prairie Plan Commission considered and approved Site and Operational Plans and a Conditional Use Permit for Caterpillar College. Caterpillar College Preschool has plans to relocate from its current location in northern Kenosha to an existing building just east of Green Bay Road and south of Highway 50 (8411 Old Green Bay Road).
The academically focused preschool has plans to relocate to an existing building in early September to coincide with the start of the 2014/2015 school year. The building is currently being operated as a church and was previously operated as a childcare facility. No interior or exterior modifications have been proposed at the facility.
During the school year, the facility will operate between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. with an anticipated 70 students. During the summer months, the facility will operate between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. with an estimated 50 children. Caterpillar College employs a part-time staff of seven. It is expected to grow to a part-time staff of nine or ten in the short term.
