95th Street Median
Median barriers have been installed on both sides of the Union Pacific railroad crossing on 95th Street. The crossing is in a quiet zone, a section of the railroad where trains do not have to sound their whistles at crossings. Similar barriers were installed in 2009 on 91st Street, east of Sheridan Road.

The barriers are installed as a safety measure to deter cars from driving around lowered safety gates. The Federal Railroad Administration asks municipalities to evaluate quiet zone crossings every three years for potential safety modifications.
