The community is invited to join the Pleasant Prairie Arts Council on Saturday, July 20 at their inaugural event, A Night in the Prairie. The event is geared towards adults and will feature local jazz and classic rock bands, food, beer, and wine. Fireworks will be displayed at the end of the evening.
The event will take place along the shore of Lake Andrea (immediately west of RecPlex) inside Prairie Springs Park. The grounds will open at 6:00 p.m. with jazz by FAB (Ford Arecco Buencamino) from 6:30 until 7:30 and classic rock by The New Chevelles between 8:00 and 9:15 p.m. Fireworks will be displayed over Lake Andrea at 9:30 p.m.
During A Night in the Prairie, food, craft beer and wine will be available for purchase. NO carry in alcohol is allowed. Limited, tented seating and some picnic tables will be available. Bringing chairs and/or blankets is recommended. Admission to the event is free. The Pleasant Prairie Arts Council would like to thank title sponsors Uline and CenterPoint Properties for their support of A Night in the Prairie.
The Pleasant Prairie Arts Council is a newly formed volunteer council of community members. The council was formed in response to feedback received through surveys conducted on behalf of the Village related to recreation. The feedback indicated a strong interest by many in the community for more cultural events in the Village.
The Pleasant Prairie Arts Council will be planning future music and art events and is looking for additional members.
