A Night in the Prairie
Featuring live local bands, food, beverages and fireworks on Saturday, July 20...

Results from the 2012 resident survey and a survey conducted for the Villageís five-year Master Recreation Plan have indicated that residents would like more cultural opportunities. Given this feedback, the Village Recreation Commission began investigating the level of interest local residents would have in participating in a local arts program. The result of the investigation was the formation of a new resident-volunteer based group, the Pleasant Prairie Arts Council.

This summer, in lieu of Prairie Family Days, the Arts Council will sponsor their inaugural event, A Night in the Prairie. The event will be geared towards adults, and will feature two local bands: FAB - Ford Arecco Buencamino (playing jazz from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.) and the New Chevelles (playing classic rock from the 50ís-90ís between 8:00 and 9:15 p.m.). A Night in the Prairie will take place on Saturday, July 20 inside Prairie Springs Park, behind RecPlex. Grounds will open at 6:00 p.m.

During A Night in the Prairie, food, beer and wine will be available for purchase. NO carry in alcohol is allowed. Limited, tented seating and some picnic tables will be available. Bringing chairs and/or blankets is recommended. Fireworks, that had been planned as part of last yearís Prairie Family Days but were canceled due to dry conditions, will be displayed the same evening at 9:30 p.m. (also inside Prairie Springs Park).

The Pleasant Prairie Arts Council will be planning future music and art events in the Village and is looking for additional members. If you would like to become a member of the Arts Council, please email ArtsCouncil@plprairie.com.
