During April, the Village Board considered and approved a contract with Public Research Group of Naperville, IL for the creation of a 5-year Recreation Master Plan. The Plan will be used to help meet the future recreation needs of the community. It will become the first Master Recreation Plan for the Village.
As part of the planning process, Public Research Group will involve members of the community through open house-style meetings. A survey will also be mailed to a statistical sampling of area residents. The results of the meetings and survey will then be analyzed and strategies to meet the needs of the community will be recommended.
Through the meetings, residents will be invited to offer their input regarding future needs for recreation services in the Village of Pleasant Prairie. Watch for more information related to the open house-style meetings in upcoming issues of the Village Newsletter as it becomes available.
A final written report, including a formal action plan, is expected to be complete by October of this year. The cost for the 5-year Plan will be $15,520. Public Research Group returned the lowest bid for the work out of four respondents. The Plan will be paid for through the Recreation Enterprise Fund, which is not supported by property tax dollars.
