Flag Presented to Village
Back to News
During mid-February, Private First Class (PFC) Ryan Miller presented the Village Board with a U.S. Flag which was flown in Iraq during his tour of duty. PFC Miller is a Pleasant Prairie resident and part-time Village employee who has just returned from a 9-month tour of duty in Iraq with the Army National Guard.
In November of 2009, PFC Miller shipped a U.S. flag that had been flown in Iraq to Pleasant Prairie Public Works Director John Steinbrink Jr. The same flag was raised above the Pleasant Prairie Veterans Memorial during the 2009 Veterans Day Ceremony on November 8. It was taken down soon after the ceremony and has been placed in a glass display case with a certificate, patches and a medallion from PFC Millerís tour of duty.
