Billet Families Needed
Back to News
The Pleasant Prairie Rampage is a hockey team playing in the Great Lakes Junior Hockey League. IcePlex is the home rink for the Rampage. One of the key factors in the success of a hockey team is the billet, or host family. Host families open their homes every season from August through April to provide young players safe, positive, healthy and comfortable environment, which will allow them to focus their efforts on academic and athletic achievement. Many families who have billeted in the past look back at their experience with fond memories. Team management makes every effort to ensure that both parties are happy and comfortable.
These young players are between the ages of 15 and 20. Some of them are away from home for the first time as they pursue the next step in their competitive hockey experience. Billet families provide not just a bed to sleep in, but are a responsible, dependable, and supportive influence in their players life. The teamís goal is to give players a memorable experience that will help them establish a lifelong relationship with the team. Once players are placed with a billet family, they will have a structured schedule. Players will practice everyday with the team, except on game days, and are expected to be at the rink on time, every time. They have a mandatory workout program to help them improve their physical and mental development. Some players will complete online courses, while others work part-time jobs.
