General Government Departments in the Village of Pleasant Prairie include: Police, Fire & Rescue, Parks, Public Works, Municipal Court, Public Safety Communications, Information Technology, Finance, Engineering, Community Development, Human Resources, Building Inspection, Administration and Assessing. The 2008 Village budget will result in a property tax increase. For an average valued home, the Village portion of your property tax bill will increase 5%, which equates to about $47 extra dollars for the year. The table in the PDF below shows you what your increase will help cover in 2008. It also shows other General Government projects/expenses for 2008, why the projects are included in the budget and how they are funded. |

General Government Departments receive income from property taxes, loans, grants, impact and other fees, resale of capital equipment and donations. These funds are then used to cover day-to-day operating expenses, large capital purchases or projects, and to pay down General Government debt.
