12/19/2012 | Woman Arrested for Operating While Intoxicated (Third Offense)
On Monday, December 17, Pleasant Prairie Police arrested 49-year old Penney Alleman of Kenosha for Operating While Intoxicated (3rd Offense). At approximately 1:00 p.m., Pleasant Prairie Police were called to the intersection of Highway 50 and Cooper Road. A caller reported having seen a vehicle drive onto the median and then proceed to leave the area.
While speaking with the officer, the caller pointed to a vehicle turning eastbound onto Highway 50 from Cooper Road and identified it as the vehicle originally seen on the median. The officer initiated a traffic stop for the vehicle identified by the caller in order to speak with the driver. While speaking with Alleman, the driver, the officer smelled the strong odor of intoxicants and observed that Allemanís eyes were red and glassy. Alleman indicated to the officer that she was drunk.
The officer administered Standard Field Sobriety Tests. Based on the results of the tests and Allemanís statement that she was drunk, she was taken into custody. A records search revealed two prior OWI offenses and that Allemanís license had been suspended. She was additionally cited for Operating a Motor Vehicle While Suspended. Following a legal blood draw at a local hospital, Alleman was transported to the Kenosha County Jail.
