Pleasant Prairie Police Department2007 New Releases Archive03/19/2007 | Pleasant Prairie Police Step Up Traffic/ OWI Enforcement According to Pete Jung, the Department’s Public Information Officer who also worked the Saturation Patrol this weekend, the department was kept busy with a steady stream of drivers who chose to drink and drive. According to Jung, the department arrested five (5) people for operating while intoxicated (OWI) during a short period from Saturday night to early Sunday morning. MICHAEL J. JONES (38) of Elkhorn was arrested for OWI on Saturday at 8:12PM after he was involved in an accident at 75th Street and 118th Ave. THOMAS G. PETERS (35) of Kenosha was arrested for OWI 3rd offense on Saturday at 11:48PM after he drove the wrong way on 75th Street from 88th Ave. GUSTAVO GODINEZ (29) of Kenosha was arrested for OWI on Sunday at 1:34AM after an off-duty police officer reported a reckless vehicle in the 8500 block of Green Bay Road. Officers also found open intoxicants in his vehicle. CHARLES P. SKALSKY (67) of Stanton ND was arrested for OWI on Sunday at 2:05AM after a cell caller reported his car driving all over the road westbound on 75th Street from 88th Ave.. PAUL F. MUHLENBECK (40) of Pleasant Prairie was arrested for OWI on Sunday at 2:42AM after an officer noticed his vehicle weaving on 75th Street and 104th Ave. According to Jung, the extra patrols will continue until September on highways that have had a high number of alcohol and speed-related traffic accidents. He stated the patrols will be random, but generally on weekends or holidays where in the past police have seen an increase in the amount of impaired drivers on the road. Jung stated officers will be targeting drivers impaired by alcohol or drugs, open alcohol violations, and underage drivers who have been drinking.
