Pleasant Prairie Police Department2007 New Releases Archive10/18/2007 | One Adult in Custody Following Burglary
Police were called to the 3700 block of 125th Street Wednesday morning after a resident found several items littering the street there. The items included a CD case, several CDs, a pair of bowling shoes and some keys. Officers recovered these items although at the time it was not known to whom they belonged or how they had gotten there. At 10:56 A.M. Wednesday, Police were called by a resident in the 3600 block of 120th Place after finding that her garage and a vehicle on the property had been entered overnight. The resident was able to identify some of the items found earlier on 120th Place as property taken from her garage and vehicle. Other items taken included alcohol, energy drinks, a satellite radio receiver and I-pod accessories. Officers interviewed a 17 year old male who lives near where the items were found on 125th Place. The 17 year old told police that at approximately 3:00 A.M. Wednesday morning he received a call from Samuel Vix who asked him to come outside because he wanted to show him something. The 17 year old went on to tell police that Vix showed him several pieces of property and attempted to give him some of the items. The 17 year old refused and Vix threw some of the stolen property out of the car window as he was driving away. The property remained there in the street until it was later recovered by police. Vix was arrested at his residence Wednesday afternoon and most of the stolen property was recovered at his home or in his car and returned to its owners. Vix was being held on burglary and theft charges as well as a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia after police found him in possession of two pipes used for smoking marijuana. Pleasant Prairie Police Chief Brian Wagner credits Officer Pete Jung for the arrest. “This was good solid police work by Officer Jung who stayed with this case from beginning to end.” Wagner said. That, and as always the help and cooperation we receive from our residents is key to insuring this kind of quick and successful outcome”, He said.
