10/14/2007 | Names Released in Fatal Crash
(Pleasant Prairie, WI) Investigation continues into a motor vehicle accident Saturday evening that took the life of a toddler and injured seven other people including two children.

It appears that a GMC Suburban being driven east on State Highway 50 by Miguel A. Saavedra, 24 of Bristol entered the intersection with 88th Avenue on a yellow or red light and struck a mini van being operated by Amanda L. Launderville, 42 of Pleasant Prairie. The van was turning south on 88th Avenue at the time of the accident.

Michael A. Saavedra 3, of Bristol was thrown from the Suburban and was pronounced dead at the scene. The two other children, Johnathon Branden Saavedra, age 5 and Emily J. Saavedra, 3 weeks of age, all of Bristol, suffered injuries and were being treated at area hospitals. In addition to the driver, three other adult passengers also suffered injuries and were undergoing treatment; Maria D. Saavedra, 29, Juana Canizalez, 54 and Edwardo A. Canizalez-Sanchaez, 20, all of Bristol.

The driver of the van , Launderville was also injured and was treated and released from the hospital.

The investigation continues.
