10/13/2007 | Police Investigate Fatal Accident
(Pleasant Prairie, WI) Pleasant Prairie Police, Fire and Rescue units were summoned to the scene of a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of State Highway 50 and 88th Avenue in the Village early Saturday evening.

Preliminary indications are that a Chevrolet mini van being driven by a 42 year old Pleasant Prairie woman who was the only occupant of that vehicle made a left turn to go south on 88th Avenue into the path of an eastbound (on STH 50) GMC Suburban driven by a 24 year old Bristol man and was struck by the Suburban. Witnesses indicate that the Suburban may have entered the intersection on a yellow or red light.

The Suburban contained a total of seven people including the driver, all of whom reside at the same address in the Town of Bristol. A three year old boy was pronounced dead at the scene. The remaining occupants, including two other children were transported to area hospitals. This is preliminary information as this accident remains under investigation at this time. A complete technical reconstruction is underway. Alcohol does not appear to be factor. Names are being withheld pending notification of family members.

It is anticipated that further information will be made available on Sunday.
