08/15/2006 | Man Dead In Occupational Accident
(Pleasant Prairie, WI) Pleasant Prairie Police and Fire Rescue Personnel were called to the 8900 block of 26th Ave late Tuesday afternoon in response to a call for a man injured in a wood chipper. The call was received at 5:22 P.M.

Officers arrived to find a 30 year old Kenosha man dead. The man was the owner of a tree service that was doing work on the property. According to witnesses, the man was using his foot to move a piece of wood that had gotten jammed in the chipper when his foot became entangled in the intake The man was pulled into and through the chipper. Co-workers attempted to stop it, but were unsuccessful.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene by the medical examiner. The incident remains under investigation by Pleasant Prairie Detectives, the medical examiner, and officials from OSHA. The name of the victim is being withheld at this time pending notification of relatives.
