09/05/2005 | Armed Robbery Suspect Captured by Police
(Pleasant Prairie, WI) On Sunday September 4, 2005 at 3:04PM, Pleasant Prairie Police received a 911 call reporting that a man armed with a knife broke into a house in the 1000 block of 115th Street and attempted to rob the occupants.

Police arrived and learned a 77 year old man and his 73 year old wife had fled their home but the suspect may still be hiding inside according to Pleasant Prairie Police Spokesman Officer Pete Jung.

Officers set up a perimeter around the house, and searched it using police K-9 “Rico”. Officers learned the suspect fled the house prior to their arrival. A short time later, Officer Mike Prange located the suspect walking in the 11500 block of Sheridan Road. The suspect was taken into custody at gunpoint without incident. The suspect was identified as MICHAEL L. HENRICKSON (45) of Kenosha. The victims were his aunt and uncle.

Police learned that HENRICKSON came over and began acting strangely. He reportedly was looking for medication. At some point, HENRICKSON armed himself with a knife from the kitchen and held it to his uncle’s back. The uncle was forced to lie on the floor. HENRICKSON cut a cord from a lamp, and ordered his aunt to tie up his uncle. The aunt was able to take the knife from HENRICKSON and run out of the house. HENRICKSON chased her, but fled when a neighbor heard her screams and called 911.

HENRICKSON was charged with attempted armed robbery, false imprisonment, first degree reckless endangering safety, and criminal damage. Police also learned HENRICKSON was also wanted by the Department of Corrections for a parole violation. He remains in the Kenosha County Jail.
