03/08/2005 | Police Release Burglary Suspects Caught on Video
(Pleasant Prairie, WI) Police in Southeast Wisconsin and Northern Illinois are being kept busy by a string of burglaries to area businesses, and the Village of Pleasant Prairie is no exception.

On Saturday March 5, 2005 at 2:19AM Pleasant Prairie Police responded to a burglary alarm at the Sony Outlet Store at the Prime Outlets Mall 11211 120th Ave in the Village of Pleasant Prairie. Upon arrival officers found that the front window had been smashed open and suspects had entered the store and left the scene.

The investigation found that 2 subjects entered the store and removed a plasma TV, then smashed a display case and took 5 laptop computers. The suspects were caught on the store video surveillance system.

This burglary is similar to several others in the area in recent months where suspects break a window, enter and take what they can, and leave in a short amount of time. These cases are referred to as “Smash and Grabs” and have police working overtime to catch those responsible. Since January, village police have investigated approximately twelve of these cases all over the village, according to Chief Brian Wagner.

Police are releasing the video and still photos from the Sony burglary to area media outlets for broadcast. “I hope by releasing the video, someone will be able to come forward with information to help us identify those responsible and solve these crimes” said Wagner.

Police are asking that anyone with information regarding this case contact Pleasant Prairie Police at 262-694-7353. If callers wish to remain anonymous they can call Kenosha Area Crime Stoppers at 262-656-7333 or 1-800-807-8477. Tips leading to conviction are eligible for cash rewards.

Media personnel may obtain copies of the photos or video by contacting the departments public information officers at 262-694-7353.
