(PLEASANT PRAIRIE, WI) Officers Peter Jung and Adrian Bump of the Pleasant Prairie Police Department have been appointed as the department's official Public Information Officers, it was announced on Tuesday by Pleasant Prairie Police Chief Brian J. Wagner.

Officer Jung is assigned to the first shift (7:00 A.M.- 3:00 P.M.) and Officer Bump is assigned to the second shift (3:00 P.M.- 11:00 P.M.). Media inquiries should be directed to the appropriate officer depending on time of day. During periods when either officer is not on duty, routine media inquiries should be directed to the appropriate shift commander.

"It is my desire to continue and improve upon what has always been a mutually cooperative and beneficial relationship between the Pleasant Prairie Police Department and local and regional media, keeping in mind the important role played by the press in our society. Officer Jung and Officer Bump understand the importance of this relationship and I am confident that they will make every effort to make our department and it's operations and activities as accessible to the public as possible" Wagner said.

This announcement represents the latest step taken by the department in the implementation of an overall strategy aimed at making the department as user friendly as possible for members of the media. The Pleasant Prairie Police Department is one of the few in Wisconsin which actually posts daily calls for service on it's Internet Web Site along with media releases back to 1997. The site can be accessed at www.pppd.info.

Officer Bump is a 2004 graduate of Concordia University and five year veteran of the Pleasant Prairie Police Department. Officer Jung is a 1989 graduate of Gateway Technical College and a former detentions supervisor with the Kenosha County Sheriff's Department. Jung is a three year veteran of the department.
