10/13/2004 | Police Seek Arrest Warrants in Apartment Garage Burglaries
(PLEASANT PRAIRIE, WI) Pleasant Prairie Detectives have submitted burglary and theft charges against two Illinois men in connection with a rash of entries to and thefts from underground parking garages in August according to Pleasant Prairie Police Chief Brian Wagner.

Police have requested warrants for Rockie L. Douglas 25, of Beach Park, Illinois and Thomas C. Clodfelter, 18 of Winthrop Harbor. Both men are alleged to have entered the underground parking garage of multiple buildings at the Hidden Oaks Apartment complex in Pleasant Prairie on three occasions during August of this year. Once inside, the men allegedly broke into resident's storage lockers and cars stealing numerous items. Each man is expected to be charged with some 20 counts of burglary and Douglas will also face a charge of operating a vehicle without the owners consent for the theft of a vehicle from the complex.

The Pleasant Prairie investigation stems from a case in Gurnee Illinois where Clodfelter was arrested for entries to vehicles there, Wagner said. "This is another example of how good things can happen when law enforcement agencies work together" he said. Subsequent investigation led detectives to Douglas and to some of the stolen property including a car stolen from Hidden Oaks that was found in Douglas's possession. "By all accounts these were busy individuals on both sides of the State Line" Wagner said noting that additional Wisconsin charges are possible.
