Time: 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
This free, family event highlights RecPlex Summer Camp and offers over 75 different family-oriented vendors throughout the fieldhouse. The expo offers fun activities for children and many child and family oriented exhibitors. Admission to the expo is free of charge. Concessions will be sold throughout the event. Time: 9:00 a.m.
Hippity, hoppity, guess who’s in town? Join us at the Wruck Beach Pavilion for a buffet breakfast of pancakes, sausage, donut holes, milk, juice and coffee. The Easter Bunny will be stopping by! Join us for the 2010 corporate team fitness and wellness challenge, Corporate Cup. The fee is $75 per company. Sign up in teams of four from your organization or business to participate in fitness and wellness challenges. Your organization will be combining scores and competing against other area businesses. Time: 7:00 a.m.
This indoor/outdoor (weather permitting) event includes a 400-yard pool swim, 8-mile bike ride on spin bikes and a 2.3-mile loop along the shores of Lake Andrea. Best overall performance (male and female) in all three races will be awarded the second annual 5K Championship Trophy and great prizes. Races are: Family Walk/Run (May 9), SportsFest 5K (July 24), and Run with the Turkeys (Nov 20). Clydesdale and Athena divisions are available in all races. Registration cost is $15 per participant through April 30 and $20 per participant from May 1 through race day. Registration includes an event t-shirt, goodie bag and post-race refreshments. The Spring Ice Show is a family-friendly event showcasing the skills and talents of our Pleasant Prairie Skating School U. S. Basic Skills program, Freestyle and Synchronized skaters, and exciting guest skaters. Dazzling lights, music and costumes enhance these group and solo performances. Tickets go on sale April 24, 2010 at 5:00 p.m. and are for reserved seating. Tickets can be purchased at Guest Services on a first come, first served basis {Seniors (55+) and children (ages 4-12) are $7; adults are $10; children 3 and under are free}. The Trek Women sprint distance triathlon fits every woman’s comfort and experience level. Join thousands of other women from across the country at Lake Andrea and Prairie Springs Park for this amazingly moving experience. Sally Edwards, Hall of Fame Triathlete and Chief Inspiration Officer, will be on hand to give you a lucky "high five" at the Race Start and at the Finish Line. Calling all local royalty, RecPlex will be hosting a Royal Gala. Hors d’oeuvres will be served as your royal child takes part in the regal activities including Kiss the Frog, Fishing for Fun, wand or shield making and more. A commemorative photo will capture the evening along with a chance to meet some real royalty. Cost is $23 per child and guest through October 6 and $30 after October 6. All are welcome! Come enjoy child- and family-oriented activities. Don't miss the costume contest for ages 2-4 at 5:00 pm; ages 5-7 at 5:45 pm; and ages 8-13 at 6:15 pm. Hayrides from 4:00 - 8:30 pm. Admission to the event is free. Small fees may apply for various activities. Concessions will be sold throughout the event. Watch for more details as the date approaches.
11/7/2010 | Veterans Day Ceremony
Time: 1:30 p.m.
On November 7, the Village will hold a Veterans Day Ceremony to pay special tribute to America's service men and women. The ceremony will be held at 1:30 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial on the southeast side of Prairie Springs Park. You, your family and friends are invited to join us as we recognize the sacrifices and contributions made by our service men and women. New bricks and benches in the memorial will be dedicated, and a moment of silence will be observed.
