Google Fiber for Communities![]() Google is planning to build, and test ultra-high speed broadband networks in a small number of trial locations across the country. They'll deliver Internet speeds more than 100 times faster than what most Americans have access to today with 1 gigabit per second, fiber-to-the-home connections. They'll offer service at a competitive price to at least 50,000, and potentially up to 500,000 people. ![]() From February 10th until March 26th, Google is asking any interested municipalities to provide information about their community through a Request for Information (RFI) which they will use to determine where to build their fiber network. The Village intends to respond to the Response for Information (RFI). As a step to provide accurate information to Google, the Village has put together a short survey based on specific areas targeted by Google. We encourage everyone to participate in this survey. While we are one of many potential candidates to pilot Google’s network, the possibility will not be there if we do not respond and that response requires your help. The deadline for the survey is March 24th.
